Deadheading is just cutting off or removing dead blooms. It promotes more blooms because the plants want to create seeds to continue to exist and spread themselves around, and those come from the flowers as they age and dry up. If you cut them off they try to produce more so this is nice for us because it extends the bloom time and certain plants are also producing more food for wildlife, and that’s important. The plants can use their energy to produce new blooms and it looks nicer for us. (I ac
