On April 13, 2007, Marine Anson Roberts was in Iraq as the lead driver clearing a route of IEDs when his humvee was hit and engulfed in flames. With his skin burning and being under fire, he crawled his way out. Nubs sustained 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns on 30% of his body. These burns led to the amputation of most of his fingers and significant deformation. Roberts’ traumatic experience didn’t stop him. ‘Never quit’ has always been his motto.
