Helping Ma Nature is a yearly tradition - when Lake Mills Fish Hatchery staff strip female and male walleye and add a little water and clay, they get fertilized eggs that don’t stick to one another. They also get the products for another year of successful stocking. Yearling rainbow trout, 120,000 of them, are gathered from ponds at Lake Mills Fish Hatchery, removed by a magical ride up the fish pump (with no harm to the fish) and collected for transport to the big pond (Lake Michigan).
