Sequoia National Park in winter feels peaceful and full of quiet beauty. The giant sequoias look even more impressive with fresh snow sitting on their wide branches, and the forest becomes calm, almost like a winter movie scene. The higher elevations get heavy snow, so roads like the Generals Highway can temporarily close at times, and you may need tire chains to drive safely. But once you arrive, the park feels almost empty compared to summer. You can walk or snowshoe through the Giant Forest,
