Preparing for a change in weather….again! We hauled the hay that was ready into the barn. Then we built haycocks out of the almost-but-not-quite-ready hay (the larger “piles” in the video). We finished off by making what is known as “grasscocks” or “footcocks” out of the fresher vegetation. These are the smaller piles, there are about a dozen but my less then ideal camera placement cut most of them off! Haycocks and grasscocks are a traditional way of making hay in the unsettled British climate.
