Thirty years ago a plane carrying the then President of Rwanda and his Burundian counterpart was shot down, killing everyone on board. The events of the 6 April 1994 sparked one of the bloodiest genocides in human history. Around 800,000 people were killed in Rwanda by ethnic Hutu extremists over 100 days.
