Black Mountain in Cave Creek is an awesome hike that leads to 360 degree views of the north valley and the Tonto national forest beyond. It’s about 2 1/2 miles round trip to the peak and back but It isn’t for those looking for a Sunday morning stroll. The sign at the start reads: WARNING: THIS IS A STEEP ROCKY PRIMITIVE TRAIL.
