#OnThisDay in 1962 the most successful male rower in Olympic history, Sir Steve Redgrave, was born. Here he is in 1985 speaking at the National Rowing Championships after winning the Men’s 2000 Metres Single Scull event. Redgrave would go on to make Olympic history by winning five consecutive gold medals, from 1984 to 2000.
