Fello is Andi Otto's unique sensor-extended cello bow. It connects the cello and the computer as one instrument, using the bow as a special interface. The bow is used to play the cello in the traditional way, but in Fello it also holds a set of sensors that measure the movement and acceleration of the bow, as well as the applied finger pressure.

Andi Otto holds a PhD in Kulturwissenschaften (Cultural Sciences). His thesis discusses the role of the performing body in electronic music along the history of the STEIM SensorLab, a device developed in the 1980s that pioneered the use of sensor technologies in experimental live music.

Andi Otto is a Hamburg-based sound artist, composer and performer. His work centres on the exploration of experimental human-machine interfaces in electronic music: As an artist, he performs with his self-developed sensor bow "Fello", which transforms his cello bow into a gestural sound device.

This piece is about he sensorial memory of the body, how it transmits to our dreams and how these dreamt movemnet can be visualized. Andi Otto recorded STEIM\'s analog synthesizer modules, the \"Black Box System\" for his raw and pulsating electronic soundtrack.

Victoria Hauke and Chris Lechner have developed a choreography in the water. They explore the sensory body on land and in the water, the liquid qualities of the inside and outside of the movements. Andi Otto performs live on synthesizers in a 4 channel sound environment.

A video tutorial by the American locksmith Ron Reed serves as the conceptual starting point of the first collaboration between composer-performers Leo Hofmann and Andi Otto. In his instructions on how to pick a lock, Reed is less concerned with the mastery of technique than with a live dialogue between hardware and intuition.
