Supreme Court ruling has given President Donald Trump the go-ahead to enforce his ban on transgender people serving in the military. The conservative-led high court said in a singe-paragraph emergency order that it would lift an injunction that was placed on the trans ban while the judiciary considered challenges to its legality.

The Supreme Court said Tuesday that the Trump administration can begin immediately enforcing a ban on transgender service members in the military.

The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that Trump’s trangender military ban can be enforced while legal challenges proceed, effectively barring trans people from serving in the military. The 6-3 decision overturned the injunction issued by a U.S. District Court, which prevented the policy from taking place.
