An arbitration tribunal has ruled in favor of Venture Global in its high-profile LNG contract dispute with Shell and other European energy majors.

Firms, including Shell, BP, Edison and Galp, filed arbitration claims starting in 2023, accusing Venture Global of profiting from the sale of LNG on the spot market while not providing them with their contracted cargoes from the Calcasieu Pass export facility in Louisiana.

It means that every LNG contract in the world was probably rewritten since this case began, to make sure this situation will be avoided in the future'.
