After being rebuffed by Lawrence Taylor for No. 56 and Phil Simms' family for No. 11, the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft will don a number that gets the best of both worlds – No. 51.

After getting shut down to wearing both Lawrence Taylor's No. 56 and Phil Simms' No. 11, Carter, the third overall pick of the draft, has settled on No. 51.

Just when it appeared that Simms, who separately heard from G.M. Joe Schoen on the issue, would agree to let Carter wear the number, Simms's family intervened.
