Olympique Lyonnais have been relegated to Ligue 2, French football's financial watchdog (DNCG) said on Tuesday following an audit of the club, which said it would appeal the decision immediately.

Lyon have been demoted to Ligue 2 ahead of the 2025-26 season as a review confirmed their administrative relegation.

Lyon were initially handed a provisional relegation to the second division in the last meeting with the French football financial body. This was due to the financial situation they found themselves in, with the demotion now confirmed as the situation hasn't improved.
