New York Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns acknowledged feeling frustrated by the team's recent hitting struggles but expressed confidence the slump won't last long. Stearns spoke before the Mets fell 3-2 to the National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night for their ninth loss in their past 10 games.

Stearns, who has never fired a coach during a season, expressed his support for Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes.

While the Mets are the most out-of-form team in Major League Baseball heading into this series, the Milwaukee Brewers are the most in-form. Their nine wins in the last 10 games mean they have the best record of any team this season, winning a total of 70 and losing just 44.
