Some 220,000 people have gathered in Hostages Square in Tel Aviv and the surrounding streets for a rally held by hostage family members, according to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, citing police estimates.
On Sunday, relatives and friends of hostages taken by Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, on October 7, 2023, called a nationwide strike. Around 25 hostages are believed be alive in Gaza. The protests took place across Israel, some outside of politician's homes, military bases, and highways.
To enable restoration work, trains will not run today between Binyamina and Netanya, and between Tel Aviv HaHagana and Lod or Ben-Gurion Airport.
