Protests can be filed in person at the HCAD office, 13013 Northwest Fwy., or by mailing protest forms to P.O. Box 9222004, Houston, TX 77292-2004, with a postmark date no later than May 15.

According to HCAD, the fastest way to file a protest is online. In Harris County, you have until Thursday, May 15, or 30 days after your appraisal notice was mailed, whichever is later.
