Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the man at the center of a political and legal maelstrom after he was mistakenly deported to El Salvador, was being heldin a Tennessee jail after being flown back to the United States on Friday to face new charges of transporting undocumented migrants.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday it was the Department of Justice, not him, that made the decision to bring back to the U.S. a man mistakenly deported from Maryland to El Salvador. Kilmar Abrego Garcia was flown back to face criminal charges of transporting illegal immigrants within the U.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who was wrongly deported to El Salvador in March, has been indicted and brought back to the U.S.
