A 64-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot on Wednesday near the Lodge Freeway in Detroit. According to Michigan State Police, authorities received calls at about 2:35 p.m. near the freeway and Eight Mile Road.

An east Detroit gas station has been closed indefinitely after an employee fired a shotgun at a customer Monday night, officials said. The clerk was arrested and the victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Assistant Detroit Police Chief Franklin Hayes said Tuesday.
