The Reds placed Burns on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Aug. 12, due to a flexor strain in his right elbow.

Stephenson had made his return from Tommy John surgery in late May but his return was short lived as he was placed on the 15-day injured list with right biceps inflammation and a stretched nerve. There is no timetable for a return. Stephenson was shifted to the 60-day injured list to open up a roster spot on July 24.
