Although Anaheim made a 21-point improvement from last season, a seventh year has passed since they last made the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Cronin, who was the first head coach to be fired since the conclusion of the regular season this past week, went just 62-87-15 in his two seasons for the rebuilding Ducks, missing the postseason in both campaigns. Anaheim last qualified for the playoffs in the 2017-18 season.

Greg Cronin was fired as coach of the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. No replacement was named. Cronin was in his second season with the Ducks, replacing Dallas Eakins on June 4, 2023.
