An Atlas V rocket roared off Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:54 a.m. ET Monday, carrying 27 Amazon Kuiper satellites to low-Earth orbit. The flight, dubbed Kuiper 2, doubles Amazon's constellation to 54 operational broadband satellites.

Amazon launched its second batch of Kuiper internet satellites using the Atlas V rocket by United Launch Alliance (ULA). The rocket lifted from Space Launch Complex 41 at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The cloud service parent company is ramping up plans for a massive constellation that competes with Elon Musk’s Starlink.

A United Launch Alliance rocket launched more of Amazon.com Inc.’s (AMZN) Kuiper satellites to space on Monday as the online retailer seeks to rival SpaceX’s Starlink in the satellite internet segment.
