Days after a child in Texas died amid an ongoing measles outbreak, the Salt Lake County Health Department (SLCoHD) is recommending Utahns take precautions to protect themselves from the serious disease before it reaches the Beehive State.

With growing cases of measles in Texas and Lubbock reporting the states first death, local health officials hosted a news conference offering updates.
