Leonard A. Lauder, who was known as much for his philanthropy and arts patronage as he was for his family’s beauty company, died Saturday at age 92.

He was best known for his success in business, notably the international beauty company he built with his mother, Estée Lauder. He was also an influential art patron.

Leonard A. Lauder, who helped build his Jewish family’s business into a cosmetic empire and a significant driver of philanthropy, Jewish and otherwise, died at his home in Manhattan on June 14 at the age of 92.
