The National Transportation Safety Board on Tuesday will be focused on preventing another terrifying event like the one involving a panel that flew off a Boeing 737 Max midair in January of 2024.

NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy stated that the safety deficiencies should have been apparent to Boeing and the FAA.

Last year, an improperly attached door panel flew off of an Alaska Airlines airplane in midair. No one was hurt, but the incident sparked a fresh round of scrutiny for Boeing and the FAA.
