Both Gilbert teams placed in the top three of the 3A team standings and Ames-area teams totaled seven titles at the state track and field meet.

Ames girls 4x400 runners Brenna Van Cleave, Natalya Deardorff, Angelica Attinger and Saylor Horras on placing fifth in 4A at state.
