OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Big Ten made several changes to the schedule to the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. The league postponed Friday night’s Nebraska-Oregon pool play game after a three-hour rain delay. The Huskers will now play Saturday morning at 9:00am.
Robby Bolin’s single in the 10th inning produced a Nebraska win over Michigan State Tuesday night at the Big Ten baseball tournament.
The Huskers will take on top-seeded Oregon and Michigan State in pool play, hoping to extend the season with another Big Ten Tournament run.
The Huskers had just come off a west coast trip where they went 3-8 after being swept at UCLA and winning one game at Southern California, with a two-game sweep over Pepperdine in the middle. They sat 2-7 in Big Ten play, and even though it was still early, looked like a long shot to reach the postseason.
Nebraska outfielders Riley Silva and Robby Bolin have been "interchangeable" this season. Now the former juco teammates are complementary keys in the Huskers' May surge.
