Kentucky's bill to lower the state's individual income tax has been signed into law. The Senate took up the bill Tuesday, the first day that lawmakers reconvened since the January break. Republicans have supermajorities in both chambers.

Kentucky lawmakers have completed their work to reduce the state’s individual income tax rate. They delivered on a top Republican priority on the fifth day of this year’s session.

Lowering the income tax rate has been a priority for Republican lawmakers in recent years. Gov. Andy Beshear signed the bill Thursday.
