ATLANTA (WVUE) - A perfect first inning by former LSU star Paul Skenes helped propel the National League to victory over the American League on Tuesday (July 15), in the first Major League Baseball All-Star Game decided by a postgame home run derby.

El Paso starter Matt Waldron picked up his second win of the series in the Chihuahuas’ 6-3 victory over the Las Vegas Aviators Sunday afternoon at Southwest University Park. Waldron pitched 13 innings in the series and allowed only two runs.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone said the three-guard line-up was not part of the game plan as initially, Abarrientos was supposed to take the place of Tenorio. But with Tenorio playing well, Cone was prompted to keep the Ginebra veteran in the game.
