Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez, a journalist, author and helicopter pilot, are getting ready to tie the knot in Venice, Italy. The couple and some of these celebrity guests were photographed on Friday, leaving luxury hotels in Venice for their black-tie wedding ceremony.

The billionaire founder of the Blue Origin space company has worked to charm Donald Trump in recent months, and even invited the president to his lavish, star-studded wedding in Venice, White House officials told The Wall Street Journal. The president apparently isn’t planning to attend, due to scheduling conflicts.

One of the world's richest men, Bezos was able to commandeer many of the Italian city's resources. But a small portion of locals were not so welcoming.
