Former NHL player Joe Pavelski won the American Century Championship on Sunday, closing with an eagle in a wire-to-wire victory in the celeb event.
Pavelski, the former San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars forward, put up 21 points on Saturday to hang on to a share of the lead, totaling 44 points through two rounds of the three-round tournament in Stateline, Nevada. Former MLS star and current broadcaster Taylor Twellman also had a big round, putting up 23 points to tie Pavelski for the top spot.
Plover native Joe Pavelski, who won the 2006 men's hockey championship with Wisconsin, won his first American Century Championship by nine points.
