Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori were defeated in the final of the Australian Open by the pair formed by the British Hnery Patten and the Finnish Harry Heliovaara, reigning Wimbledon champions.

Bolelli is an Australian Open doubles champion from 2015 with Fabio Fognini, while Vavassori is yet to win a major. Finland's Heliovaara and Britain's Patten notably won Wimbledon together in 2024.
