During the primary, voters will select the Democratic and Republican party nominees who will then appear on the November 2026 general election.
Early voting in Harris County begins Monday, Oct. 20, and runs through Friday, Oct. 31, giving residents nearly two weeks to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day on Nov. 4.
Six Republicans and three Democrats have already filed for Harris County judge, in addition to one independent candidate who is actively campaigning on social media.
State Sen. Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston) took to X earlier this week, blasting Harris County for "STILL allowing many citizens to register to vote using private P.O. boxes." Bettencourt argued such registrations are in direct violation of the law he authored-Senate Bill 1111-which made such action illegal, barring certain qualifications.
Democrats have a chance at overperforming in the Tennessee special election after Harris attended a canvassing event last month.
