Former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Michael Gallup is coming out of retirement, less than a year after walking away.
Like Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup before him, Brandin Cooks may be a receiver no longer with a spot on the Dallas Cowboys.
“Former Cowboys WR Michael Gallup, who abruptly retired last offseason, intends to make a comeback, per his agent Kevin Robinson,” Rapoport wrote on X. “The Raiders released him from the reserve/retired list today for that reason. He’s still just 29.”
One former Dallas Cowboys standout is considering a return to the NFL after a brief retirement. According to reports from NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, former Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup, who announced his retirement in July of 2024 at the age of 28, is eyeing a return to the NFL.
Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones has intimated that the Cowboys may target a rookie QB late in the draft. That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t need a veteran backup with some games under his belt. Jones is another who would fit the bill.
