Week 1 of the college football season is (mostly) in the books after an exciting Thursday-Saturday slate of games. We saw No. 1 Texas fall at No. 3 Ohio State. We saw No. 4 Clemson lose to No. 9 LSU. And most shockingly, we saw No. 8 Alabama get thumped by unranked Florida State in Tallahassee.
The Big Ten placed six teams in the top 25 of both the preseason AP Poll and CBS Sports 136, including Illinois, Indiana and Michigan in the upper tier. Others are lurking, as Iowa, Nebraska and USC could challenge the SEC's depth if they exceed expectations in 2025.

The Gamecocks have their RB1! Rahsul Faison (finally) got his extra year of eligibility from the NCAA, so he’ll be on the field on Sunday against Virginia Tech. That’s huge news for South Carolina, as the Gamecocks need to build out their weapons around elite QB LaNorris Sellers. Faison will be a big boost to the offense this fall.
We got a little taste of college football in Week 0, but this Saturday features the first full slate of games headlined by No. 1 Texas traveling to No. 3 Ohio State and No. 9 LSU battling No. 4 Clemson.
