Elk are usually found in the northern parts of Arizona, such as Kingman, Flagstaff, Payson and the White Mountains, but they are also sometimes seen in elevations about 4,000 to 5,000 feet.
An Arizona woman has died more than a week after being trampled by an elk she was possibly trying to feed, in what is believed to be the first deadly attack of its kind in the state.
