US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday called on China to encourage Iran to not shut down the Strait of Hormuz after Washington carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on China to prevent Iran from closing the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz also brings 25% of ammonia, 20% of DAP, 10% of MAP and 30% of sulfur global exports. Taylor says an important factor would be the timing.
