Barcelona's Camp Nou return delayed again
Barcelona's return to the Camp Nou has been delayed again after the Spanish champions said on Thursday the stadium would not be ready to host the club's next Champions League match against Olympiakos.
The Spanish champions have insisted for months that they are close to returning to the Camp Nou but have yet to receive council approval.
The prospect of hearing the Champions League anthem echo around the stands again, with more than 90,000 fans under the lights, is an image that excites the entire Barça community. “It won’t feel real until we’re back at Camp Nou on a European night,” one supporter told local radio.
The inclusion of the stadium in the Champions League schedule contradicts the lack of official confirmation from the club regarding its return to the stadium. In fact, there isn't even a confirmed venue for the LaLiga match Barça-Girona, scheduled for October 18.
