Vance Boelter, the man accused of killing a top Democratic state lawmaker and wounding another is now facing new and upgraded state charges. The new indictment comes just a week after he pleaded not guilty to separate charges in federal court.

A grand jury in Hennepin County indicted suspected shooter Vance Boelter on state charges after he allegedly shot two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced eight new charges against the accused political assassin on Thursday.
