Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani celebrated his return to the mound against the San Diego Padres on Monday, but his hitting has taken a step back.

After giving up consecutive singles to Fernando Tatis Jr. and Luis Arraez, Manny Machado hits a sacrifice fly out of the zone to give San Diego an early lead. The defense then helped Ohtani as Gavin Sheets grounded out to second base and Xander Bogaerts grounded out to third base to end the inning.

Shohei Ohtani threw the fastest pitch of his MLB career on Saturday as he continued his return to the mound with two innings during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 9-5 defeat to the Kansas City Royals.
