Cuba has arrested a suspected Chinese fentanyl kingpin who escaped from custody in Mexico and is also wanted by the United States, the Mexican government said Wednesday.

An alleged fentanyl kingpin wanted in both the United States and Mexico has been arrested in Cuba, the Mexican government confirmed.

Zhi Dong Zhang, known as "Brother Wang," escaped house arrest in Mexico in July and has now been transferred into U.S. custody, officials said.

A more draconian step came in January 2021 when the US again included Cuba on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT). President Biden removed Cuba from the list in January of this year, only for Trump to add it again just days later when he started his second term.
