Update: Timber Fire expands to 12,915 acres in Monterey County, now 26% contained

Timber Fire initially started at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 8 - Southeast of Loma Vista in Monterey County, California. By Sunday morning, it had burned 9,665 acres, an increase of 1,000 acres since the last update. As of Sunday morning, the fire crew managed to contain 25% of this wildfire. At present, details about the cause of the fire are unknown.

Update: Melba Fire in Riverside County now brought under full containment

A new wildfire was reported today at 6:03 p.m. at Highway 74 East and Melba Avenue, Near Homeland in Riverside County, California. Melba Fire has burned 10 acres by Monday evening. There is currently no information on the containment or cause of the fire.
