SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A suspect was shot dead by police in downtown San Diego Tuesday night after gunfire erupted near an MTS Trolley platform, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

An investigation has been launched into an in-custody death that happened while a man was being detained following an altercation at a downtown San Diego bar Saturday night.
