A magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck Turkey’s northwestern province of Balikesir, killing at least one person and causing about a dozen buildings to collapse.

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has struck Balikesir Province, northwestern Turkey, killing one person, injuring 29, and toppling dozens of buildings.

(Reuters) -One person was killed on Sunday when an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck northwestern Turkey's Balikesir province, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, adding 29 people were wounded and 16 buildings collapsed.
