Prominent Houston-based criminal defense attorney Dan Cogdell —who notably has defended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in court —is calling out Gov. Greg Abbott and other state officials for racially profiling a Muslim group aiming to develop a planned community.

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) could not begin construction on a proposed Muslim neighborhood due to legal issues, according to a press release.

Attorney Dan Cogdell, who is representing a planned Muslim community in Texas called EPIC City, tells “Morning in America” his clients are being investigated by the state solely because of their religion.
