The internet poked fun at the Trump administration’s decision to impose new tariffs on Heard Island and McDonald Islands, Australian territories near Antarctica where many penguins but no people live.

According to the Federal Reserve, increasing tariffs on China in 2018 led to fewer direct imports from China, but other countries started importing more from China and then exporting those goods to the US. So, unfortunately for the penguins on the McDonald Islands, they're stuck with these 10% tariffs.
