A group of Republican lawmakers have warned against changes and cuts being made at the Social Security Administration (SSA). Newsweek has contacted the SSA for comment via email outside of regular working hours.

The Trump administration is asking the Supreme Court to clear the way for Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to access Social Security systems containing personal data on millions of Americans.
