The fire at SPS Technologies in Abington, Pennsylvania, didn't reach the largest stores of volatile chemicals on the site, according to officials.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) said Thursday it tested the air for six chemical compounds just southeast of the SPS Technologies fire in Abington and did not detect “any chemicals of concern.”

The EPA and DEP will continue to monitor air and water conditions to ensure public safety. No hazards have been detected in the area surrounding the fire and the area has been deemed safe,”
