Chelsea have officially completed the signing of 22-year-old striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town in a deal worth around £30 million ($40.6m), both clubs confirmed on Wednesday. The England Under-21 international has committed to a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2030-31 season.

Delap makes the switch after a £30million ($40m) release clause in his Ipswich contract became active following the team's relegation.

The first mini transfer window of the summer is officially open with clubs able to complete business ahead of the new season. The Club World Cup, which Chelsea are taking part in, has led to a change in the window,
