The president will announce this year’s honorees Wednesday. The arts complex’s marquee awards ceremony may see significant changes as Trump continues to overhaul the institution he took over in February.

President Trump announced on Wednesday the Kennedy Center honorees: George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor and the rock band KISS. The awards ceremony will be held in December.

The president said he "turned down plenty" of nominees, saying those individuals were "too woke" or too liberal.
