A group of U.S. solar panel manufacturers asked the Commerce Department to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imports from Indonesia, India and Laos, according to documents on an agency web site.

Government officials reported that the ongoing bilateral trade talks (BTA) negotiations between India and the US are "progressing" and are in their fifth round.

US President Donald Trump has said yet again that the US has a deal coming up with India but suggested that additional tariffs may still be imposed on the country.
